Intensive English for Adult Educators – Business Communications

Daily Teaching Sessions
Morning: 4 x 45 minutes (3 Hours )
Afternoon: 3 x 45 minutes ( 2 Hour 15 mins )
Course Aims
A lively, problem-solving approach to business situations is adopted, combining the study of textual, audio and video materials with stimulating role-play based on realistic case studies. Students complete a Needs Analysis form prior to arrival and these along with discussing individual and group needs at the start of the course establish the teaching emphasis.

Preparation
Consideration of a participant’s language needs in a professional context. Needs Anaysis outling individual requirements. On-line pre-test. Advice on pre-course language preparation.
Objectives
This course is designed for non-native speakers of English. It aims to provide enhancement of your language and communication skills in a pan-European context. Consideration of business models and factors affecting inter-cultural communications will be studied. Exchanges of views with fellow participants from a wide variety of countries and cultures will be encouraged.
Methodology
Lessons are based on an oral communicative approach to language learning; reading and writing are used only in a supportive role where appropriate. Full use is made of audiovisual resources and modern teaching methods.
Follow-up
Participants will receive advice on continuing their language learning after the course, and you will have email access to a Richard Language College tutor.

Lessons 1 - 4 (Mornings) Business Communication Skills: Management Procedures, Negotiation Skills, Buisness Metings, Data Analysis, Presentations, International Marketing & Finance, Language of International Trade, Phone Calls, Business Correspondence, Complaints, Individual Needs, Interactive Skills.
Lessons 5 - 6 (Afternoons) English for Professional Purposes: Socializing, International Issues, English for Travelling, Phone English, Practical Writing, Meetings, Describing Trands, CV's & Job Applications.
Lesson 7 (Afternoons) Vocabulary in a Professional Context.
