Maxima Intensive

Maxima Intensive courses involve small-group teaching for adults, including company personnel. These courses allow concentrated study of general English with special reference to practical communication skills and comprehension of native speakers to give maximum opportunity for success in conversation. Lessons are based on an oral approach to language learning; reading and writing are used in a supportive role where necessary. We include a strong element to reactivate the learner's knowledge of the essential structures of the language. Full use is made of audio-visual resources and modern teaching methods. Each class sees more than one teacher a day to ensure a contrast of accent, delivery and approach. Afternoon classes focus on English in a professional context. Clients receive a linguistic profile based on the teacher’s assessment during class activities of their level on the CEFR scales. Courses are in 4-week modules with course start dates arranged to balance academic control with flexibility of arrival. During July and August, some classes may be held at our summer annexe.
