Who is it meant for?

It is aimed at teachers who are non-native speakers of English who:

  • need to teach their subjects through the medium of English.

  • teach students aged 10 and over.

  • are planning to be CLIL teachers in the future.

  • run or support the CLIL department in their own schools

What will you study?

Your day will be divided into two sessions.

In the morning, you will:

  • study English with people from other nationalities who may or may not be teachers.

  • refresh your language skills

  • get the chance of observing experienced EFL teachers in the classroom, which in turn will provide input for your afternoon methodology classes.

In the afternoon, you will:

  • practise essential strategies, skills and activities.

  • be introduced to a theoretical aspect of the above techniques.

  • be exposed to various teaching techniques through loop input.

  • study in-depth the role of language and language development in a CLIL context covering the four skills.

  • focus on encouraging learner autonomy and lexical range.

  • also be exposed to a wider range of CLIL areas of interest.

  • be provided with opportunities to peer-teach which in turn will help you manipulate the strategies learned in the class.
