Bournemouth
is one of England's Premier seaside resorts. It boasts some of England's
best beaches and includes 12km of European "Blue Flag" award
winning sandy beaches. The town enjoys one of the best climates in the
country. Bournemouth has a strong tradition of tourism, and there are
many interesting and entertaining things to do.

We are surrounded
by stunning areas of natural beauty, which include: The New Forest"
which has recently been awarded national park status, and "Dorset's
Jurassic Coastline", where many important prehistoric finds have
been made. Poole Harbour, which can be seen from Bournemouth's clifftops,
is the largest natural harbour in the world after Sydney. The Harbour
has several islands, the largest of which is Brownsea Island, popular
for walks and nature watching. In the summer it also hosts open-air
Shakespeare plays. |

Bournemouth
is well connected by road, rail and international airport, from which frequent
chartered flights take off. There are many historic towns and cities in
Southern England including: London, Winchester (the former capital of England),
Bath, Stonehenge, Weymouth, Salisbury, Poole and Christchurch. London is
just 2 hours away by train. |

Many tens of
thousands of language students visit Bournemouth each year, and the
University and Bournemouth and Poole College have many young people
enrolled in the area. Bournemouth is also visited by people from all
over Britain who come for the nightlife, sport and nature. It has
over 40 night clubs, 350 Restaurants and bars. |

Sports
There are excellent facilities for sports in and around Bournemouth easily
and cheaply available to the public. The Littledown Sports Centre is a
very popular venue offering swimming, squash, aerobics, badminton, five-a-side
football, tennis and a health & fitness complex. Surrounded by 47
acres of parkland complete with lake, the centre is open to the public
every day until 11.00pm. Near the College there are excellent facilities
for golf, tennis, squash and swimming. During the summer months, windsurfing
and sailing are available nearby, at Poole Harbour. Our social organiser
is available for advice and help with booking.
