Special Services for International Students
Bournemouth University offers a warm welcome to students from all over
the world.
We guarantee international (non EU) students places in University halls
of residence providing that the lease
and deposit are returned before a deadline in the middle of August.
Our International Office is dedicated to
helping international students make the most of their time in Bournemouth
and organises a free of charge
orientation programme for all new students, as well as other social
activities during the year.
PSSP (Pre-sessional Study Skills Programme)
PSSP is a four-week programme which allows international students
to develop effective strategies for learning, experience a range of
teaching styles, improve their communication skills, familiarise
themselves with British culture and establish a network of new friends
in a welcoming, team-orientated environment.
PSSP is aimed at students whose first language is not English and who
are not familiar with UK higher education. In order to enrol on PSSP
you must already hold an unconditional offer for a Bournemouth
University academic programme.
PSSP offers a sound introduction to studying an academic programme
at Bournemouth University. It is also good fun, offering excursions
and team-building exercises in the Dorset countryside and full use
of Bournemouth University's extensive facilities.
PSSP takes place during the four weeks in September immediately
before the start of the academic year.
