Richard Language College

Richard Language College is one of the oldest running schools in Bournemouth. The founders of Richard Language College opened the school in 1964. We pride ourselves on both our quality of teaching and the care we provide for our students.

This language school was last inspected by the British Council in June 2014 and met the high standards required for accreditation. We are also a member of EnglishUK.

It was found that the institution takes great care to protect the welfare of its clients and staff, and all publicity materials produced by the institution are accurate and truthful.

Richard Language College runs a wide range of English language, exam preparation and professional development courses lasting from 1 week to an academic year.

Our maximum class size of 12 students (4 on the Professional English course) along with our quality teaching team will help  you to reach your full potential.

Terms and Conditions:

2019 Public Holidays – 1st January, 19th April,, 22nd April, 6th May, 27th May, 26th August. The school is closed for all courses on these dates (only special closed group courses may be running). College closes completely from 21st December 2019 to 1st January 2020. Beginning of the 2019 academic year is 7th January, 2019.

Visas – Richard Language College is accredited by Accreditation UK. Accreditation UK is a UKBA recognised accreditation body under the Immigration Rules for Visitors. Nationals from the European Union and Switzerland do not normally require a visa to study. A Richard Language College certificate of acceptance will be delivered to students who need to apply for a visa. DHL fee: £85.

Payment – All fees (tuition, accommodation and any extras) are payable in full and in advance and in all cases at least four weeks before course commencement. Payment details are shown on the invoice.

Cancellation – No refund if there is no notice of cancellation by course start date. No refund of course fees after course start date. Refunds requested for unforeseen and/or personal reasons are made at the College Principal’s discretion. The full enrolment fee shall be retained by the College whatever the reason of cancellation or decision of refund.

No refund of tuition fees for holidays requested after arrival. Any refund of homestay accommodation is subject to seven full days’ notice. RLC reserves the right to cancel courses due to lack of demand or unforeseen circumstances.  An alternative course will be offered or a full refund made.

RLC group cancellation conditions are as per the group quotation.

Insurance – Purchase of an appropriate policy is strongly recommended, covering eventualities (cancellations, delayed travel, medical emergencies etc.) Arrangement of insurance cover is not the responsibility of RLC. RLC is not responsible for travel costs incurred therefore full insurance is strongly recommended.

Conversation Club

On Wednesdays

Richard Language College students can join staff and fellow students for the Conversation Club held on most Wednesdays from 3.30pm to 4.30pm in the cafeteria.
